Poor antenna location

The GPS antenna must be installed where an unobstructed view of the sky exists. Mount the model 8225 Outdoor Antenna on a rooftop in a location with clear overhead sky and views to the horizon. Also select a location that will not allow the antenna to become buried in drifted or accumulated snow or covered by foliage. Avoid placing the GPS antenna in close proximity to broadcast antenna whenever possible.

When using the Model 8228 Indoor Antenna, verify the window does not have low-E glass. Low-E glass windows are coated with a transparent metal layer that reflects infrared heat rays; this will also reflect the GPS signal. The GPS unit will not receive the signal through Low-E windows.
