Ping Test

Try pinging the Time Server. At the command prompt, type ping xxx.xxx.xx.xx (Where x is the IP address).

Responses	What it means	Action
"reply from (IP address) bytes=32 time=?ms (time will vary) ttl=64"	a device having this IP address has been found.	Incorrect IP address Verify the Time Service is started Click here if using a gateway, router or firewall
"reply from (IP address) destination host not reachable"	the Host cannot be "reached" over the specified network address	Incorrect IP address Check setup
"request timed out"	the network can be "reached" but the Host could not be found	Incorrect IP address Check hardware Check setup
