Digital Broadcast

   

Spectracom provides reliable Time & Frequency solutions to synchronize digital broadcast distribution networks, especially Single Frequency Networks (SFN).

The key feature of new digital broadcast technology is the use of a multi-carrier system Coded Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex (COFDM) to overcome adjacent channel interferences and reflections of same signal. This process allows reliable operation of SFN networks since all transmitters use the same frequencies. All transmitters in a SFN need to be synchronized so that their emitted signals are frequency identical and bit identical. SFN operation requires Spectracom equipment to ensure synchronization using a universal time and frequency reference.

 

Many thousands of Epsilon Clocks™ and Ageless master oscillators ensure the deployment of Digital Broadcast networks all over the world. These solutions allow broadcast operators and equipment manufacturers to meet the challenges of supporting legacy infrastructure along with new services and new technologies. Spectracom solutions are compliant with all existing standards: DVB-T, DVB-H, DVB-SH, FLO, T-DMB, DRM, etc.

compact GPS clock The Epsilon Clock Model EC1S provides a very accurate and stable time and frequency signals in a compact package (122 x 102 x 44 mm). Ideal for synchronizing digital audio and video emitters.
Features: 1 PPS and 10 MHz outputs, optional outputs available, choice of three OCXO oscillators, RoHS compliant.

Rack-mount GPS Clock
rack-mount GPS clock The Epsilon Clock Model EC2S is a high-performance GPS clock with very accurate and stable oscillators (OCXO and Rubidium). The model EC3S GPS clock has a front panel keypad for configuration and management. Both models have a 19" rack mount chassis ideal for broadcast equipment racks.
Features: 1 PPS (up to x4) and 10 MHz (x4) standard outputs, many other options available: 1 MHz, 5 MHz, 2,048 MHz, 2.048 Mbit/s, IRIG-B and more.
Benefits: Accurate holdover mode, most versatile.
