WWVB Signal Optimization With NetClock/2 Time Server / Master Clock

Spectracom's NetClock/2 master clock uses the WWVB signal as its time source. Due to the nature of the WWVB signal (such as the single transmission point) NetClock/2 may experience poor WWVB reception quality. This may cause the clock to lose or never acquire WWVB synchronization. This condition is typically caused by local interference, but can also be caused by hardware failure due to lightning or other problems, or due to poor in antenna alignment.

This integration guide contains information on troubleshooting problems with WWVB reception. Equipment to assist in troubleshooting reception problems include: laptop PC, standard serial cable, analog or digital multimeter, oscilloscope and a signal generator.
