Troubleshooting
Check computer date/time rules, if you think synchronization is occurring but the
hours are not correct
.
In the event that a PC or a network does not seem to be synchronizing at all, two diagnostic tools can be of great help to verify the cause:
Use Windows Event Viewer
or
Perform a Ping Test
Refer to the appropriate Model 8188, 8189, 91XX, 92XX or TTS instruction manual for further assistance with troubleshooting.
The W32Time program has been updated in newer versions of Windows XP and older versions of XP with SP2. This version is the same as Windows 2003. Check the version of XP and make sure you have followed the correct steps:
New versions of XP/XP with SP2
Older versions of XP
Poor synchronization with W32Time
(as indicated from event ID 47 and others) may result from not changing the default mode (symmetric active) or a potential software issue that resets to the default mode.
