Redundant time servers

More than one time server for the network is recommended if time synchronization is critical for the operation of the network. The W32Time program has been modified in Windows 2003 Server to allow for redundant time servers on the same network. Contact Spectracom Tech Support for information on configuring two time servers on a Windows 2003 network.

The W32Time program in Windows 2000 and Windows XP does not support the use of multiple NTP servers on the same network. However Spectracom offers redundancy solutions to maintain time synchronization in the case of loss of the time server. Contact the factory for more information.
