Wireless Phase 2

About half of the nation’s 6,000+ PSAPs (including most large operations) have upgraded to support Wireless Phase 2, which allows accurate location (within yards vs. miles in Phase 1) of wireless callers. Vendors have implemented “rebid” features to allow Telecommunicators to update the wireless caller's location as it becomes more accurately identified -- including automatic rebids based on timers.
