Spectracom to Present Series of Papers at National Synchronization Workshop
4.10.2006

TELCORDIA BRINGS TOGETHER EXPERTS IN FRANKLIN, TN, MAY 24-25

ROCHESTER, NEW YORK — Spectracom Corporation announced today plans to present a series of papers at the seventeenth annual Telcordia National Synchronization Workshop to be held May 24-25, 2006, in Franklin, Tennessee. The Telcordia workshop is an annual forum for industry’s leading synchronization experts from network service providers and equipment suppliers to discuss network optimization, examine technology trends, and understand the implications on today’s network infrastructure.

Spectracom’s Paul Myers will discuss the concept of time stamps and their protocols as well as open issues impacting the emerging network make-up. Mr. David Figge, Spectracom’s director of product marketing, will examine impediments to DS1 service delivery over the emerging network topologies and some methods to reconstitute DS1 performance. Mr. Richard Funderburk, Spectracom’s director of product development, will present the issues facing network operators as multi-service elements with packet infrastructure backhaul. In particular, Mr. Funderburk will address how traceability separation from the existing PRS network requires careful planning and the importance of establishing alternative means of ensuring PRS traceable quality signals at the edge.

Jack Rice, Spectracom’s Telecom Division vice president and general manager, said, “We are pleased to join this national group of industry experts. Given our team’s deep technical roots and long history in network synchronization, we believe that we bring a lot to the table in supporting next-generation network development and implementation.”
