Spectracom to launch latest generation simulcast master oscillator at IWCE 2005
4.4.2005
The latest generation Ageless® master oscillators for simulcast applications will be shown at the International Wireless Communications Expo (IWCE) in Las Vegas, NV. The show runs from April 6 through April 8.
The Ageless family of master oscillators uses the NAVSTAR Global Positioning System (GPS) to discipline an internal oscillator to provide precision clock synchronization for a variety of applications including simulcasting, telecommunications timing, and digital broadcasting. They are called Ageless, because they automatically compensate for oscillator aging without any user intervention. The new B series Ageless master oscillators offers the highest level of frequency reference reliability to improve the operational efficiency for the systems they synchronize.
The model 8195B offers five precision 10-MHz outputs and a variety of power input options. Reliability features include the ability to track up to twelve satellites simultaneously with T-RAIM integrity monitoring and an optional internal battery to power a stand-by mode in the case of a power failure. For simulcast radio applications, it includes additional PPS (pulse per second) outputs and four different CTCSS (continuous tone coded squelch system) outputs.
For mission critical applications, the model 8197B uses an internal Rubidium atomic standard that maintains the highest level of frequency accuracy and 1PPS holdover even in the event of long-term loss of the GPS signal.
Spectracom’s Ageless master oscillators will be showcased by Simulcast Solutions LLC in booth 11038.
