Congress considering extending daylight-saving time
4.8.2005
On April 6, the House Energy and Commerce Committee has approved an ammendment to extended daylight-saving time by two months. The proposal would start DST on the first Sunday of March and end it on the last Sunday in November. It is believed the change will reduce electricity usage and the move was prompted by skyrocketing energy costs. The ammendment is part of energy legislation that is likely to come up for a vote in the full House in the coming weeks.
Spectracom master clocks and time servers are designed with fully configurable DST rules. If this, or future legislation is passed to change DST, our users can simply update the rule so your time is always correct.
