Pendulum Instruments Acquires Naviva GPS Signal Generators and Expands Its Product Portfolio

 

Stockholm February 5, 2009. Pendulum Instruments, a company of the Orolia Group (NYSE Alternext Paris - FR0010501015 - ALORO), today announced the expansion of its product portfolio with the addition of a one-channel, single frequency (L1) GPS signal generator. This high-technology solution dedicated to complex navigation applications and environments has been acquired from Naviva, a Space Systems Finland (SSF) business unit, a leading provider of location technologies. This GPS signal generator named "GSG-L1" will be integrated with Pendulum's product range and sold under Pendulum brand name. Pendulum instruments and Naviva will further collaborate to develop next-generation GPS signal generators.

 

Harald Kruger, CEO of Pendulum Instruments declared: "We have strong ambitions and expectations in the growing Global Navigation Satellite System test market. The expansion of our product portfolio is part of our strategy to strengthen our position within the time and frequency test and measurement area".

 

Mika Jahkola, Managing Director of SSF underlined: "The impressive Pendulum Instruments distribution channels will enhance the GSG-L1 sales potential worldwide by reaching most of the potential targeted customers. The acquisition of such a product answers perfectly SSF and Pendulum Instruments business opportunities".

 

The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

 

The GSG-L1 is a very cost-efficient GPS signal generator for production test or R&D purposes. GSG-L1 is for example suited for fast, efficient and low-cost production line testing of mobile phones with integrated GPS-receivers. Thanks to the very wide RF level range from -18 to -175 dBm, the sensitivity of all types of GPS receivers can be verified with a minimum of delay.
